Green buds with purple tips open slowly in hot water. Their dense form looks quite different from a twisted tea leaf.
The pale-gold to green-yellow infusion has a sweet, rose-like fragrance and fruit notes reminiscent of guava candy, with hints of wood and pepper.
First brew
Use water at 90–100°C and allow 30 seconds to a minute for the buds to start opening. Lengthen later infusions.
The merchant also suggests a light simmer for a stronger brew, including after a gongfu session.
